Al Weigel Retires As Insurance Agent

After 30 years as an insurance agent, Al Weigel has retired from the field.
Weigel, who is a 1978 Napoleon graduate, said after high school he worked for Coke in Bismarck, driving the truck and then sales. Then he worked with food services in Minot until one of his friends, who was an insurance agent, got him interested in insurance work.
In 1995 Weigel decided he wanted to come back to Napoleon and was hired as a Farmers Union Insurance agent and took over Julius Leier’s agency after he retired.
“I’ve really enjoyed taking care of people’s needs and being my own boss,” but he also added the time’s been enjoyable due to his good employees over the years, which he noted there’s been about a dozen. Weigel said his favorite thing throughout his career has been meeting with the farmers; “getting out in the country.”
