Berger One Of Ten Athletic Administrators Recognized With Distinguished Service Award
Ten individuals who have made outstanding contributions to interscholastic athletics have been named recipients of the 2024 Bruce D. Whitehead Distinguished Service Award given by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).
These individuals will be honored at the 55th National Athletic Directors Conference conducted jointly by the NIAAA and the NFHS. The celebration of the award recipients will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the National Conference Awards Banquet.
The Bruce D. Whitehead Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to NIAAA members in recognition of their length of service, special accomplishments, and contributions to interscholastic athletics at the local, state, and national levels. Nominations are submitted by state athletic directors associations, screened by the NIAAA Awards Committee, and selected by the NIAAA Board of Directors.
This year’s award winners include Chad Berger, CMAA, athletic director at Napoleon High.
Following is a biographical sketch on Mr. Berger.
Chad Berger, CMAA
Chad Berger, CMAA, athletic director at Napoleon High School has made significant contributions to athletic administration since 2014. Berger has displayed unwavering dedication in the field at the local, state, and national levels.
Berger joined the NIAAA as a member in 2014 and went on to attain his Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) designation in 2022. During his membership, he has completed 39 Leadership Training Courses (LTC) and served as a moderator and delegate at the National Athletic Directors Conference (NADC) for multiple years.
Additionally, Berger has been a North Dakota state delegate at the NADC and volunteered as a LTC facilitator. Berger has been present to learn and grow at the NIAAA State Coordinators Summit in Indianapolis, Indiana several times.
