CHS SC Holds Annual Meeting

Members of CHS South Central, with locations in Napoleon, Sterling and Hazelton, held their annual meeting last Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at the Napoleon Country Club house, with about 40, including employees, board members, managers and patrons in attendance.

Following a noon lunch, board president James Silvernagel presided over the meeting. “We had another successful year for South Central and CHS as a whole,” noted Silvernagel, who then introduced the producer board members including himself, Vice Pres. Lance Weigel, Secretary Alex Wald and board members, Jason Bosch, Theo Naaden, and John Wald.

Three board members were up for election, including Weigel, A. Wald and Silvernagel. Weigel did not seek re-election and in his place, Eric Braun of Napoleon ran for the position, while both other incumbents ran for election, all unopposed and approved. 

CHS patrons heard from Sr. Director of Operations Joel Sparks, Director of Operations Jeff Bates and Sales Manager Aaron Dean.

For the fiscal year ended August 31, 2025 South Central reported a net savings of $5,711,110, for the fourth consecutive record high year for the company, with an increase from last year of $5,552,227.

Sparks noted the number of bushels handled through Sterling and Napoleon was 17 million last year. 

Grain margins were reported at $9,928,381 for FY ’25, increasing by $362,572 from the previous year. Total income also increased slightly from $10,748,254 to $10,885,167.
