City Reorganizes; Two Of Three Take Oaths

The Napoleon City Council held their regular monthly meeting last Monday evening, July 6. As this was the first meeting after the primary election, Mayor Todd Moos called a reorganization meeting.
Incumbent Bob Humann and new council member Darcy Piatz were in attendance and took their oaths of office, while newly elected member, Norman Kleppe was absent and will need to take his oath of office at the next meeting. Other council members in attendance for the regular meeting included Mike Heying, Rod Kleppe and Clark Haas.
The council re-elected Humann as president of the board and R. Kleppe as vice president. Mayor Moos also re-appointed Colleen Fettig as the city auditor, and she also took her oath of office.
Moos noted re-elected Park Board members Mary Schwartzenberger and Kevin Wolf will also have to take their oaths of office.
Other annual appointments by the Mayor during the reorganization meeting included: city attorney - Joseph Hanson; land sale committee - Humann, Moos and Kleppe; board of health - Heying, Moos, Haas, Kleppe, Piatz; police committee - Kleppe, Moos, Haas; building & housing committee - Humann, Moos, Kleppe; airport - Shane Weigel, Humann (5 yr. Terms); flood plains manager - Humann; city engineer - Moore Engineering; one cent sales tax committee - Terry Schwartzenberger (4 yr. Term) + still looking for one member to add.
