Early Morning Fire Destroys Storage Building

A 2:44 a.m. fire call alerted the Napoleon Fire Dept. and Ambulance to respond to the 500 block of 4th St W in Napoleon where a structure was on fire.
According to Rick Marquart, Napoleon Fire Dept. Fire Marshall said, “When the Department arrived on scene, flames were shooting from the structure.” The former mobile home with add ons was used for storage purposes and is owned by David and Dawn Becker, who reside in the home just to the north of the structure at 519 4th St W.
David Becker said, “The dog was acting kind of goofy and I woke up, saw the brightness (from the fire) out my bedroom window.” Dawn was not home at the time, but David and his son Donovan Becker and wife Jen and three kids were staying with David. All evacuated the home and also summoned their neighbors to the south, Jake and Jacey Bakken and two children, who also left their home due to the close proximity of the fire.
