Filing Deadline For City, County & School Positions Nearing

The cities of Napoleon, Gackle, Fredonia and Lehr, Logan County and the two school districts in the county will hold their primary elections Tuesday, June 9, 2026. The county schools will also hold their annual election on the same day. The deadline for filing for any open positions is less than two weeks away- Monday, April 6 at 4:00 p.m.
Positions up for election, along with those holding the current positions are as follows:
Logan County: 1 commissioner position (4-yr term), currently held by Blanche Schumacher; County Treasurer (4-yr term), currently held by Jody Kristiansen; County Recorder (4-yr term), currently held by Laura Henry; County Sheriff (4-yr term), currently held by Andrew Bartholomaus.
The official county newspaper will also be on the ballot, which is currently held by The Napoleon Homestead. As of Friday, March 20 those filing for positions include: treasurer – Jody Kristiansen, Commissioner – Cole Johnson, recorder – Laura Henry, sheriff – Andrew Bartholomaus and Kyle Friez, offical newspaper - Napoleon Homestead.
