Former Vo-Ag Shop Update Tabled

The Napoleon School Board met to discuss resignations, contracts, options for the former vo-ag shop and other items on the agenda during their regular monthly meeting last Monday morning, May 11.

All board members were present including President Taylor Grunefelder, Derrick Leier, Corey Schumacher, Shawn Puklich and Tori Gross, along with admins, Superintendent Rich Bjerklie, Elementary Principal Whitney Weigel and HS Principal/AD Chad Berger. 

A couple resignations were submitted. The board approved resignations from Counselor Casey Iszler and Head Cook Angie Sunde, and both positions will be put out on advertisements. 

Wage increases for ancillary staff was discussed. The board approved a variety of increases including: 12-month employees - $2.00 per hour increase; all other ancillary - $1.50 per hour increase; along with a new starting wage for paras, custodial and kitchen help at $17.00 per hour.

Approved contracts included: summer school - Terri Jangula $2,034; Nancy Thompson $2,094; librarian- Shirley Volk $65,250. The two principal positions both received a 4.5% increase as discussed at an earlier executive session meeting. New salaries will be: HS Principal Chad Berger $80,522; Athletic Director Chad Berger $12,349; Elementary Principal Whitney Weigel $82,154.

A driver’s education contract was also approved of Brian Schumacher for $1,820, along with $228 per student for behind the wheel. 

The board again discussed options on what to use the former vo-ag shop for, as at the previous meeting a renovation was suggested. Quotes were received for electrical work for the former shop which came in at. . .
