Head Cook Hired; School Starts

Napoleon Superintendent Rich Bjerklie reported a head cook has been hired for the school, during the regular school board meeting last Monday, August 10. Bjerklie also told the board that one paraprofessional position is still needed, as they had received word of a resignation. He also noted there would be an interview for the position the next day, along with more interest.
As of Tuesday, August 11, all positions, besides the K-12 music teacher, were filled. (The last time Napoleon had a music teacher was the 2022/23 school year).
Board members present at the regular monthly meeting included President Taylor Grunefelder, Shawn Puklich, Corey Schumacher and Tori Gross, while Derrick Leier was absent. Adminstration attending along with Bjerklie, included K-6 Principal Whitney Weigel and 7-12 Principal/AD Chad Berger.
Offer sheets were approved for head cook, Amanda Baumgartner at $25/hour and para, William Ayshford at $17/hour. Approved contracts included: Autumn Horner, Speech $2,745, Drama $1,662; Bryan Schumacher, Junior Class $1,550; Paige Thompson, FCCLA $1,550; Jennifer Schmitt, Student Council $1,067; Bryan Schumacher, Annual $4,217, FBLA $1,680; Abigail Becker, MTSS $500; Chad Berger, MTSS $500; Richard Bjerklie, MTSS $500; Marvy Bondad, MTSS $500; David Gerding, MTSS $500; Christina Gross, MTSS $500; Loretta Haas, MTSS $500; Jennifer Piatz, MTSS $500; Shelly Mann, MTSS $500; Adriana McCleary, MTSS; Bryan Schumacher, MTSS $500; Nancy Thompson, MTSS $500; Whitney Weigel, MTSS $500.
Bjerklie said Farmers Union Insurance has inquired about naming rights and a possible partnership/donation for the football field. He said there would be more discussion on logos and donations of around $50,000-1. . . .
