Logan County Has 47.01% Voter Turnout

Results from the 2026 Primary Election; county, city and school elections, are still unofficial until canvassing boards meet later this month. However, at last week’s local elections, Logan County voters were the second largest group of voters across the state to cast a ballot. Of the total eligible voters in Logan County, at 1,436 there were 675 who took the time to cast a ballot or 47.01% of voters. State-wide turnout was only 20.84% as 125,101 ballots were cast. Billings County had the highest percentage of turnout at 55% with Mountrail County the least at 18%.
Election day, which was June 9, there were 73,476 votes cast, 17,287 ballots by early vote and 34,388 by absentee ballots. State-wide 41% of the total vote was cast during the absentee and early voting period, while 59% of ballots were cast election day. In Logan County there were 430 absentee ballots cast and counted and 245 who voted-on election day.
Logan County Auditor Jody Kristiansen said, “Everything went well and a we had a little better turnout than in at the last primary.”
Compared to Logan County’s 675 ballots counted this year, in 2024 there were 628 ballots counted and in 2022 there were 592.
The 2026 state-wide turnout works out to roughly 21% voter turnout, compared to roughly 20% in 2024 and 19% in 2022. In 2020, turnout was higher, with 28% showing up to the polls.
