Name Change Approved For Alumni Association

For the past 54 years alumni, teachers, administrators, coaches and guests have been part of the yearly Napoleon-Kintyre-Burnstad all-school reunion, known as the Napoleon-Kintyre-Burnstad Alumni Association. When the Kintyre and Burnstad schools closed many of those students then went to Napoleon Public School. However, both Kintyre and Burnstad have been closed for roughly 50 years and there are no longer any known alumni from those schools. At the 55th annual banquet of the association on Sat., Aug. 2 the group voted unanimously to change the name to the Napoleon Alumni Association.

The annual event is held the first Saturday in August and the association honored members the 1975 first State Class B Championship team as well as the 1975 State Class B Wrestling champions. A good majority of those team members, cheerleaders and coaches were on hand for the banquet. According to association secretary/treasurer Anita Fettig there were 261 in attendance at the Napoleon American Legion Hall on Saturday evening.

In conjunction with the annual Alumni event community members also had planned events for all ages over the weekend. Friday morning the. . .
