8 Girls Place; Team Places 5th
Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter head girls’ wrestling coach Chris Weigel had 8 wrestlers place in the Knights of Columbus Tournament in Jamestown, including one champion, senior Alexis Schneider (130). Schneider dominated her weight class and won all four matches by fall with the longest match being 59 seconds.
As a team the Imperials finished in the middle of the pack on Sat., Dec. 7 with 81.5 points while Bismarck won the tournament with 216 points.
Aside from Schneider leading the team, other Imperials placing on the day were: freshman Tess Gross (112) 3rd; junior Elise Kristiansen (118) 4th; freshman Adisyn Zubke (142) 4th; freshman Bailee Renfro (100) 5th; eighth grader Gracyn Feist (155) 6th; freshman Isabella Kristiansen (118) 7th; and freshman Brynlee Dewald (155) 8th. Other NGS wrestlers who participated but did not place were: freshman Ximena Salazar (130), freshman Felicia Haas (130), junior Shylo Bjerklie (136), and eighth grader Lexxi Zubke (190).
