Imperials Bring Out The Broom
It was parent’s night as well as pink night for the Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter volleyball team. The Imperials played host to Dist. 2 foe, the Kidder County Wolves last Thurs., Oct. 8.
Not only were the parents and participants of the volleyball team recognized prior to the game, but the gym was decorated in pink as were a vast majority of fans sporting pink shirts, as a way to recognize that October is Cancer Awareness month. This year the team recognized three people, Tawyna Ryum, Kristen Moos and Sara Ketterling as locals dealing with cancer. A table in recognition of these cancer survivors/fighters was on display, where three no-tie blankets were on a silent auction, along with pop/ice cream floats and t-shirt sales and all proceeds went to Ryum, Moos and Ketterling. “We appreciate the community support and fund raising efforts for the program and Pink Night,” added Head Coach Kali Fettig.
On the court the Imperials came out strong offensively and managed to win in three straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-18 and 25-23.
All three sets were close throughout, as aggressive net play in the first set seemed to set the stage for the Imperials. After jumping out. . .
