Imperials Come From Behind To Go 2-0
The Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter Imperials girls’ basketball team picked up their second win of the young season by beating the Lidgerwood-Wyndmere Warbirds 54-46 last Saturday, Dec. 6 in Lidgerwood. The Imperials, under head coach Paul Erbele, trailed by 7, 21-28 at the half before having a strong third quarter to secure the win.
The first quarter was a fast paced affair, with both teams attempting to push the ball up court. The Imperials led 7-6 with 3:00 to play in the first period. The first stanza closed out with NGS trailing 9-10. The second frame had the Imperials come out in front early as freshman Hope Gross put up a shot from beyond the arch with the shot clock winding down and the ball banked in to give NGS a 14-12 lead. The Warbirds then went on a terror of their own the remainder of the first half as they outscored NGS 18-12, giving the hometown team a 21-28 lead.
After intermission the Imperials came out firing from beyond the arch as they dropped in five. . .
