Imperials Get 48-8 Win Over Hettinger
The Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter Imperials traveled to Hettinger last Fri., Sept. 26 for a Region 4, 9-man football matchup. NGS first year head coach Jamison Fettig and his squad took the opening kickoff and put together a sustained drive which was capped when junior quarterback Bryce Schneider carried from 1-yard out for the TD. With time running out in the first quarter QB Schneider found junior wide receiver Jackson Piatz for a 30-yard scoring route. The Imperials once again attempted to run the ball for the PAT, which the Blackhawks denied, as NGS led 12-0 with 20 seconds to go in the first stanza.
The Imperial defense once again stepped up as junior Jacob Meidinger corralled an interception for the Imperials to close out the first quarter. On the Imperials first drive of the second quarter QB Schneider found Bradley Hottman on a 13-yard passing route and Schneider found Jackson Piatz through the air for the PAT and a 20-0 NGS lead with 9:24 to play in the first half.
Roughly three minutes later the Nighthawks faced a fourth and 10 from the 11-yard line and they went to the air to get on the board. Hettinger also went to the air for the PAT as they trailed 20-8 for their only score of the day with 6:02 left to play in the half.
