Imperials Need 5 Sets To Get Win Over BCN
In a game played in the Gackle-Streeter School Gym in Gackle, the Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter Imperials came away with a 3-2 win over Barnes County North in girls’ volleyball.
In action last Mon., Oct. 21 the Imperials won the first two sets, 26-24 and 25-21 while BCN won the next two 23-25 and 12-25 before the Imperials closed out the match by winning set five, 15-10.
Imperial head coach Kecia Ellison and her squad were down four regular players, Anna Bitz, Claire Piatz, Eva Weigel and Aliyah Schwartzenberger, as those four are attending the National FFA Convention.
The new squad makeup had juniors Lily Moos, Kendall Sperle and Kaydra Kleppe and sophomore Brandi Weigel added into the rotation.
Imperials leading the team to the 5-set win were: senior Jada Schwartzenberger who had 14 digs, 10 kills, 9 assists, 3 aces and one block; junior Elise Kristiansen led the team with 16 digs; freshmen Ximena Salazar had 16 assists and Isabella Kristiansen had 4 ace serves.
