May 20, 2026

The South Central Region men’s and women’s track meet was held Saturday, May 16 in Hazen. The meet was pushed back a day due to strong gusty winds a day earlier.

The Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter Imperial women’s track team garnered 31 team points on the day for a 9th place finish out of 13 teams. Carrington won the team title with 129.66 team points.

The Imperials qualified in a couple more individual events on the lady’s side as eighth grader Deziray Zenker qualified in her third event for the State Class B Track meet this weekend in Bismarck. Zenker qualified in the 200 meter with a time of 26.75 and a third place finish. The top three placers in each event earned the right to advance. Zenker had previously qualified in the 100 meter and 400 meter events.

Another Imperial qualifying on the day was sophomore Bailee Renfro who placed third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.86. Another NGS sophomore Charlee Nenow had previously qualified in the discus, as all three will be in the State Class B Track and Field Meet in Bismarck.

The Imperials will be represented in five different events on the girls side of things: Deziray Zenker (100M, 200M and 400M), . . .
