Lady Wrestlers State Qualify 4
The Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter lady wrestlers had a dozen girls entered in the East Region individual tournament held at Casselton last Fri., Feb. 14. Imperial head coach Chris Weigel came away with four girls qualifying and advancing to the girls’ state tournament in Fargo starting Thurs., Feb. 20.
On the day in Casselton senior Alexis Schneider, a 3-time state champion and sporting a perfect 46-0 record earned an East Region title at 130 lbs. Schneider buzzed through her opponents by recording a trio of wins by fall and a semi-final win by technical foul. The three other Imperials who punched their ticket to the state tournament are: freshman Tess Gross who placed seventh at 106 lbs., junior Elise Kristiansen at 118 lbs. who finished in eighth place and freshman Adisyn Zubke who finished in sixth place at 136 lbs.
