Napoleon FFA At 98th National FFA Convention
Eight members of the Napoleon FFA Chapter along with advisor, Mr. Brian Schneider and his wife, Mary Beth attended the 98th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN during the week of October 27th. The students attended convention sessions, the world’s largest career fair, leadership workshops, competed in the National Food Science CDE, Employment Skills LDE, received the National Star Chapter award, and had a graduate member receive her American FFA Degree. Members attending were Miranda Becker, Addyson Erbele, Dawson Erbele, Sabrina Haas, Brooklyn Hottman, Elodie Kuhn, Amelia Moch, and Eva Weigel.
The group traveled to Council Bluffs, IA on Sunday, October 26 and on Monday traveled to East Peoria, IL for the evening. On the way down the group stopped at a pumpkin patch/corn maze as well as the FFA Center.
The evenings were spent practicing for the events we were competing in at the National FFA Convention.
Wednesday the Employment skills competition begin at one of the downtown hotels and the food science team headed to the Indiana State Fair Grounds for their 5-hour competition. Members not competing spent time attending leadership workshops, visiting the World’s Largest Career Fair, FFA shopping mall, and sessions. The evening concluded with an FFA concert featuring Ernest and Ella Langley.
On Thursday morning some members attended the opening session which featured keynote speaker, Aric Johnson. As one of the nation’s top motivational youth speakers, his mission is to Teach, Inspire, and Encourage all those who hear him, and to take the challenge of helping others pursue their goals and dreams. A charismatic and genuinely heartfelt communicator, Aric truly electrifies an audience.
